Reconstruction of the Sind boiler house
Description
A silicate brick boiler house on the property was largely demolished, and a new metal frame boiler house was built in its place. The boiler house building to be reconstructed consisted of two volumes: the smaller part was the boiler room, and the larger part was the biofuel storage.
Two biofuel boilers with the capacity Nbio=850 kW and Nbio2=600 kW and one oil boiler, which remains in reserve, were installed in the boiler room. Biofuel is loaded from the vehicle to the unloading tub, from where it is transported to the storage with screw conveyors and from there to the feed unit using crawlers; from there, the fuel moves to the boiler. Ash removal is automatic, and ash is collected in containers next to the boiler house. Pre-insulated stainless steel modular chimneys with a height of 18 m were installed on the boilers.
Smoke removal from the boiler room is ensured using a non-closing ventilation grate (2 pcs.) installed in the upper third of the room’s wall. The dimensions of the grate are 1000 x 1000 mm, and the calculated required opening for smoke removal is 1.51 m2 (1% of the floor area). The fresh air needed for combustion is obtained from this same grate. In addition, the boiler room has a forced exhaust with a fan, primarily designed to ensure a normal internal temperature.
Smoke removal from the biofuel storage and hydraulic room is also ensured using non-closable ventilation grates. The calculated required opening is 2.81 m2 (2% of the floor area in the warehouse). Two ventilation grates, 2000×1000 mm, and 2000×500 mm, were installed in the upper third of the end wall. In addition, the warehouse has a forced exhaust with a fan, primarily designed to remove the moisture released from the biofuel.
